Materica is today a benchmark for designers, architects, artists, and creatives seeking new opportunities that combine aesthetic value, technical innovation, and creative freedom. A concrete example is Superfici Venice Collection, our first collection, developed to offer new expressive possibilities through our exclusive metallization technology—the true hallmark of the company.
Metallization: Material Beyond Its Limits
Materica’s metallization is not just a decorative finish. It’s a handcrafted and technological process capable of transforming vastly different materials—such as metal, wood, fabric, polyurethane, MDF, resins, and more—into surfaces with the appearance and texture of metal. This enables the creation of three-dimensional, reflective, and textured effects on complex geometries, large formats, and even curved surfaces, for both indoor and (potentially) outdoor use. It’s a process that opens up new scenarios in the design of surfaces for retail spaces, hotels, high-end residences, and public environments. “Our innovation doesn’t lie solely in the product, but in the possibilities we offer to designers: daring with materials without compromising on aesthetics, durability, and creative freedom,” says Maurizio Orfino, CEO of Materica.
Superfici Venice Collection: A Collection for Structured and Contemporary Spaces
Developed in collaboration with top international designers (Draw Studio, STORAGEMILANO, Guardini Ciuffreda Studio, Serena Confalonieri, APS, and Matteo Cibic), Superfici Venice Collection is designed for contemporary spaces that demand bold surfaces capable of capturing light, amplifying space, and generating depth. Patterns such as Magic Mirror combine geometric rigor with optical dynamism, helping to create immersive, character-rich environments. These surfaces can be applied to boiseries, walls, counters, columns, and custom furniture, perfectly adapting to bespoke requirements.
A Technology That Serves Creativity
Superfici Venice Collection showcases how Materica works closely with architectural firms and designers, offering ongoing technical and design support—from material selection to texture definition, all the way to installation. The result is a surface that is not only beautiful but functionally and narratively aligned with the space. The collection removes barriers to experimentation: each project can become a unique piece thanks to the high degree of customization offered by metallization and the possibility of producing even small batches without sacrificing craftsmanship quality.
