Sala Scrigno (Sogni, Milan) is the place where materials transcend their own boundaries and take on a new identity. Here, Materica’s Molecular Metal Weaving (MMW) achieves one of its most accomplished expressions, transforming the weave of jute and fabric into metallic surfaces with a powerful sensory impact.

The panelling, designed by STORAGEMILANO, consists of a wooden frame housing jute-covered panels, whilst a series of oval panels in lace-like fabric – also set in wooden frames and metallised – completes the composition with a refined interplay of volumes and textures.

The metal microparticles do not merely coat the surface: they fuse with the fibre, preserving its weave and creating a unique balance between the natural and the metallic. It is the culmination of molecular weaving, a project in which innovation, craftsmanship and research come together to transform matter into emotion.
