Today, the window and door market is dominated by thermosetting powder coatings, a well-established technology that accounts for around 90% of applications on the market. Whilst offering significant advantages in terms of cost-effectiveness, this system presents certain challenges linked to the high temperatures required for the curing process, during which temperatures reach around 200°C.
Such conditions can affect the performance of the thermal break, causing issues such as blistering, surface cracks and possible deformation of the window or door itself. The aesthetic finish is also superior, as Materica’s automation enables the complete painting of the window frame and thermal break, eliminating the typical ‘two-tone’ effect often seen on windows treated with traditional systems. The result is more aesthetically harmonious, with attention to every detail and characterised by greater visual continuity between the various components.
